Southwest Regional Museum of Art and Art Center

The Southwest Regional Museum of Art and Art Center is destined to be a cultural jewel for communities within Southwest New Mexico and a magnet for art lovers traveling in the state. SWRMA & Art Center will offer exciting educational opportunities and enjoyment in looking at art, studying art, and making art.

The Museum’s emphasis in its permanent collection is American Art from 1850 to contemporary times. Invitational exhibitions may include art representing other cultures and times. Types of art already in the permanent collection include bronze sculpture, paintings, original prints and drawings, photographs, and contemporary ceramics.

Having several galleries within the Museum will allow for a newly curated exhibition to appear each month, making a visit to SWRMA and Art Center always exciting, along with a chance to again view artworks that have become old friends. A unique Department among museums, the Southwest Regional Museum of Art and Art Center offers the C.W. Flanders Art Research Library, open to use within the Museum by the public. The Library catalog will be available worldwide online.

MAKE THE MUSEUM is a Capital Campaign to raise funds for a 7,000 to 10,000 sq. foot building.
